The core purpose that drives my work is drawing together and connecting the elements needed for success—attentive listening, speaking with care, building trust, gathering information, identifying strengths and assets, communicating clearly, and promoting action. I am a veteran consultant with more than 30 years experience in facilitation, research, and writing. Prior to founding Flanagan-Hyde Solutions in 2003, I was vice president and chief operating officer of a national healthcare market research and strategic planning firm, The HSM Group, Ltd.
I hold a master of arts in organizational change from Prescott College, Prescott, AZ (1997) and a bachelor of arts, magna cum laude, from Williams College, Williamstown, MA (1977). I am a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer and an IABC accredited business communicator.
My professional experience includes editorial services coordinator for St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ; director of public relations for The Peddie School, Hightstown, NJ; founder and president of Family Seasons, a service providing education, consultation, labor support, and bereavement counseling for childbearing families; childbirth assistant with Familyborn Birth Center, Princeton, NJ; and instructor and crisis intervention counselor for child assault prevention and battered women's service programs.
Affiliations include Arizona Town Hall, American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), AcademyHealth, International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), International Forum of Visual Practitioners, National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD), and St. Luke's Health Initiatives Health in a New Key (HNK) Consultants Community of Practice.
My husband, Peter Flanagan-Hyde, is an educator. Our family includes our son Justin, daughter Katherine, son-in-law John, and grandson John IV. Together we enjoy hiking, travel, the deserts of the American Southwest, and oceans and rivers throughout the world.
